Yarbrough Presents Village of Hillside with Funding for

New Sidewalks

BROADVIEW, IL – State Rep. Karen Yarbrough (D-Maywood) presented officials from the Village of Hillside with a $200,000 check for infrastructure repairs on Monday, August 24 at the 7:30 p.m. Village Board meeting.

The state funding, secured with Yarbrough’s assistance, will be used for new sidewalks throughout Hillside.

“Local governments have been hit especially hard by the downturn in the economy, and as infrastructure deteriorates, they are faced with the dilemma of how to provide more services on a smaller budget,” Yarbrough said.  “Fortunately we were able to pass the first significant public works program in more than a decade, and that program includes funding for a variety of communities across the region, including Hillside.”
