Senior Citizen's Homestead Exemption

Provides tax relief for seniors age 65 and older by reducing the taxable value of their homes by $3,000, on top of the current $5,000 Homestead Exemption.  Seniors receiving the Senior Citizen Homestead Exemption automatically qualify for the Homestead Exemption and do not have to apply for it separately.

Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze

Freezes the taxable value of a home for seniors age 65 and older with an annual household income less than $45,000.

Senior Citizen Tax Deferral

Allows seniors age 65 and older with an annual income under $40,000 to defer all or a portion of their real estate taxes and special assessments on their residence.  The loan carries a low interest rate and is repaid at the time the property is sold.

Circuit Breaker Property Tax Assistance

Provides grants to seniors age 65 and older who have paid property tax on their home, even if they rent or live in a nursing home.  Those with household incomes under $21,218 for individuals or $28,480 for couples are eligible.
