Whenever I am asked about my qualifications, instead of reciting items from my resume, I prefer to talk about the qualities that distinguish me as an effective leader in Springfield and as a worthy representative of the 7th District.  I hope you will consider these qualities and support my efforts to serve and represent you.

"Real political leadership requires an ability to persuade, inspire and support forwarding-thinking people at all levels of government."

 - K. Yarbrough

Effective Leadership

I believe government should work for people and in providing leadership to enable people to live more meaningful and productive lives.  I know the moral test of government is measured in how we treat those who are in the dawn of life, the shadows of life, and the twilight of life.

To be an effective public servant, you must be able to develop, nurture and maintain productive relationships with elected officials at all levels of government.  Problems don't stop or stop at community borders.  Since 2001, I have worked continuously to understand the issues facing legislators as well as the needs of my constituents.  I have succeeded in forging effective working relationships with other lawmakers in order to pass legislation that improves the quality of life in the 7th District and in Illinois.

Effective Leadership means working with other political leaders to bring needed resources to the 7th District
